KTM 250XC-W

The machine that changed my perspective on dirt bikes forever. A bike made for the kind of riding I was doing at the time, technical, and gnarly. The modern KTM XC-W is a masterpiece. These days when someone asks me what bike they should get I tell them: ā€œbuy a bike designed for the task at handā€. It seems obvious but I see a lot of people (myself included) who try to turn bikes into something they arenā€™t. With me it was the 450L, as much money as I threw at it, the KTM would still outperform it in almost every aspect right out of the box. Now if I was doing long cross country Dual Sport rides or BDR style riding than sure the 450 would be better suited, but in my environment the pumpkin was a blessing and I really did feel like Jarvis out there ripping through the woods. From the Colorado rockies, to the sandy single track in Michigan, this bike went everywhere with me and eventually sent me to the ER in 2020.

SOME OF THE BEST OF THE KTM250 XC-W

i broke my leg on this bike!

Over labor day weekend in 2020, I entered my first enduro race in South Carolina called the Little Brown Jug. Little did I know that I would find myself in a hospital hours later with a Tibial Plateau Fracture (TPF). While at first I thought I just had dislocated my knee, I was determined to finish the race and even with a few hiccups along the way, I did it. This injury still affects me to this day unfortunately and it humbled me in many ways. At the end of the day you have to pay to play and Iā€™m just thankful to still have all of my limbs and am able to continue to do what I love!
