suzuki dr-z400sm

The DR-Z400SM was a spur of the moment purchase from the legendary Nowayjosé. We had just wrapped up a trip down at the Tail Of The Dragon, he had bought this DRZ for the trip and as with everything José buys, he planned on selling it as soon as he got back. I gave him an offer I thought he would refuse but as unpredictable as he is, he said yes and I now owned my first Supermoto! I had it for most of the summer of 2019 and my overall opinion of the DRZ is mixed. While it really is a fantastic bike and as reliable as it gets, it is just so damn outdated.. All of the 80’s styled components, and the clunky brick-like feel, in this day and age I am spoiled with Fuel Injection and 6-speed transmissions. I still think it is a great bike and perfect budget option for some, but with newer and less expensive models like the CRF300L, and everything offered from the Europeans, I don’t think I will be getting another anytime soon.
